TED CASTNER
Ted Castner, age 65, a 14 year resident of Mohave Valley, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born February 20, 1952 in Artesia, Calif.
Ted was a disabled Army Veteran. At the age of 18, Ted decided to proudly serve his Country and became a U.S. Army Combat Engineer. He served from 1970-73 in Germany, as a member of the First Armored Division Company C 16th Engineer Battalion.
He was a long time member of American Legion Post 0087 in Bullhead City, Ariz., AMVETS, lifetime member of DAV organization for Disabled Veterans of America and a life member of the NRA.
Ted loved his family first and foremost, including his many rescue pets. His new puppy “Millicent” will miss him terribly. They brought each other immeasurable joy. Ted was a generous, joyful soul who lit up any room he entered with his smile, and had a warm greeting for everyone, including “strangers”. He is at peace with his loving God, never to suffer again. He will most definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Beatrice Castner; his life long best friend, “Big” Mike Parvin; and beloved cousin, Brian Castner.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Dossey-Castner; sons, Michael, David, Jeff, and Dan. Ted is also survived by four siblings, Joe, John, Theresa and Mary; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; as well as his close extended family of in-laws .
Memorial services with full Military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Desert Lawn Cemetery, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, AZ.
